The NASCAR license changes hands; new game coming in 2016

NASCAR’s video game license has gone from Eutechnyx to the Charlotte, N.C.-based DMi Games. The new studio is planning a NASCAR game for 2016.

DMi Games, a subsidiary of HC2 Holdings, took the license over on 1 January and is planning a game on Windows PC, PS4 and Xbox One. DMi’s CEO Tom Dusenberry is founder and former president of Hasbro Interactive, while the company’s President Ed Martin worked for Eutechnyx on past NASCAR games.

The latest game in the franchise was NASCAR ‘14, developed last year by Eutechnyx and published by Deep Silver.
