The Meta Quest Pro comes with whopping $2,500 AUD price tag

VR... at a price.

The Meta Quest Pro was announced and priced today, and will set Aussies back a whopping $2,499.99 AUD.

“Meta Quest Pro is the first entry in Meta’s new high-end line of devices, and it’s packed with innovative features like high-res sensors for robust mixed reality experiences, crisp LCD displays for sharp visuals, a completely new and sleeker design, plus eye tracking and Natural Facial Expressions to help your avatar reflect you more naturally in VR,” the company formerly known as Facebook said in a press release.

Moreover, Melbourne-based studio PHORIA has been picked by Meta to “develop the world’s first web-based mixed reality experience, as part of Meta’s global developer programme at Connect.”

The mixed experience “allows people to interact with experiences within their own space,” according to Meta. “For example, a person will now be able to see their living room through a headset and then drag in whatever they would like to add to that space.”

Devices can be pre-ordered now, with global shipping starting from 25 October.

What do you make of the new Meta Quest Pro?
