The Legend of Zelda’s protagonist is called Link Link

Like Mario Mario before him, Nintendo has confirmed that the full name of The Legend of Zelda‘s protagonist is Link Link. No, really.

Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto and Eiji Aonuma made the confirmation in a recent GameInformer video.

The pair also confirmed that the franchise was first named “Adventure Mario” in initial design documents.

Say what you will about the Super Mario Bros. live-action movie, but this is definitely one of its best bits.

Link Link’s next adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, heads to Wii U and Nintendo Switch on 3 March.
