The Free Shepherd is a good boy and heads to PC, PS5 in 2027

How cute!

The Free Shepherd was today announced at The Game Awards 2025 pre-show, featuring a very, very good boy.

The Free Shepherd explores the beauty and power of nature, combining  cinematic exploration with quiet emotional storytelling and light fantastical elements,” reads a press release.

“Set across sweeping landscapes inspired by travels to Iceland, players can embrace canine instincts while unlocking the mysteries of the island, the portals on it, and the calamity that faces them all. Vermont-based cellist Zoë Keating is onboard to compose the music for the game.”

Take a look at it above.

The Free Shepherd is a single player atmospheric adventure where you are an energetic and loyal sheepdog, alone in a beautiful but troubled world,” the press release continued. “Run fast and free on your search for masses of lost sheep, then herd them to a secret refuge. Discover a mysterious calamity that only you can stop.”

Expect The Free Shepherd sometime in 2027 on Windows PC and PS5.
