The first mission of Hitman 2 now free-to-play

The first mission of IO Interactive’s Hitman 2 is now free-to-play, it’s been confirmed.

The game’s opening mission, Nightfall, is set in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand and tasks Agent 47 to take out a druglord.

Moreover, those accessing the free version of Hitman 2 will also gain access to a limited tome Elusive Target mission, The Politician. Taking place over 8-17 March on Hawke’s Bay, Agent 47 needs to take out Dame Barbara Elizabeth Keating, “a disgraced former New Zealand Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs who was forced to resign after the discovery of her charity funneling funds to her offshore interests.”

If you decide to purchase the full version of Hitman 2 after the trial, all your progress will be carried into the main game.

Hitman 2 is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. We reviewed it here.
