The Evil Within gets a comic series to bridge the gap between its games

Bethesda and Titan Publishing are teaming up to deliver an Evil Within comic series that will bridge the gap between the original and the upcoming sequel.

With its first issue available 6 September, The Evil Within comic series will take place before the upcoming The Evil Within 2. It will follow protagonist Sebastian Castellanos after the events of the original game — and (spoiler alert) — things aren’t great for ol’ Seb.

“Sebastian Castellanos does not lead a very charmed life. His family has been torn apart, all of his friends are either dead or missing, and he’s currently ‘between jobs.’ Oh, and he got thrown into a hellish nightmare world and no one will believe his story, which has driven him just a little bit crazy,” Bethesda said, setting the scene.

Poor guy.

The comic series is written by Ryan O’Sullivan (Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IIITurncoat) and features art by Damien Worm (The October Faction) and Szymon Kudranski (30 Days of Night AnnualSpawn). For more from the creative team, head here.

The Evil Within 2 heads to Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4 from 13 October.
