Super Smash Bros.’ amiibo update for New 3DS inbound

NintendoLife reports that Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DSwill today receive an update tied to amiibo functionality.

The update is designed for the New 3DS and New 3DS XL, both handhelds with NFC-reading capability. Nintendo’s amiibo figures are driven by NFC technology.

It’s assumed the amiibo figures will function much like they do on the Wii U version of the game.
