Super Smash Bros.: 3DS release date, Miis and Amiibo support, new characters revealed

Nintendo offered a ton of information about Super Smash Bros. today, including a 3DS release date in North America alongside new characters.

First, expect Super Smash Bros. on 3DS from 3 October in North America. We’re working to confirm an Australian date.

Next, an epic battle with Iwata and Reggie helped to confirm that Miis will be usable in the game. There are three different fighting styles to choose from when it comes to gamers’ virtual representations.

Super Smash Bros. will also support the Amiibo system, with real-world figurines able to be activated in-game to fight alongside your own character.

Finally, two new characters were revealed today, both from Kid Icarus. Both Dark Pit and Lady Palutena will join the fighter’s ranks.

Super Smash Bros. will be available first on 3DS in October, and later in the year on Wii U.
