Super Mario Run: Downloaded 40 million times in 4 days; gets new Friendly Run mode

Nintendo has confirmed Super Mario Run has been downloaded 40 million times in just 4 days at the same time a new mode has been released for the title.

Called Friendly Run, the new mode is like Toad Rally, but doesn’t cost any tickets to play and won’t let you gain or lose any new Toads. Essentially, it’s practice mode.

Those who’ve not completed the game’s first world can use Friendly Run once per day, while those who’ve finished it can go three times per day. Finally, those who’ve finished World 2 can go five times per day.

Super Mario Run is available now on iOS and is planned for Android in 2017. We’ve reviewed it here.
