Super Mario Bros. turned 30 years old this week

This week marked Super Mario Bros.’ thirtieth birthday. You know, if inanimate objects celebrated birthdays.

Super Mario Bros. made its debut on 13 September 1985 in Japan. Aussies had to wait nearly two years for the chance to play locally, however.

As long as you don’t mind his former name of Jumpman in 1981Donkey Kong, Mario himself is celebrating his thirty-fourth birthday this year. Celebrations all around!
