Steam now officially supports Switch Joy-Con controllers

Yay!

Steam now officially supports Joy-Con controllers from the Nintendo Switch.

The support comes with Steam’s 4 August Client Beta update.

It’s a slim update, with patch notes that say it has “added support for Nintendo Joy-Con controllers, both individually as a mini-gamepad and combined into pairs” and “improved support for the Nintendo Online classic controllers.”

Those commenting on the news say they’ve been able to get Joy-Cons, N64 and Switch Online SNES controllers working already. Others have had issues getting Joy-Cons to work, either entirely or facing issues that mean one of two Joy-Cons connect.
