Steam Link app will stream games to iOS, Android devices

Two new apps will allow users to stream Steam games and movies to their iOS and Android devices, Valve today detailed.

First, the Steam Link app will allow for game streaming to smartphones. Scheduled for a 21  May launch, the app will stream from PC, Mac, Linux and SteamOS to iOS and Android phones using a 5Ghz network or wired ethernet connection. The app will also offer support for the Steam Controller and MFI controllers.

A Steam Video app will do much the same for Steam movies. It will be available later this year.

Valve promised more details ahead of release.
