Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order gets free content update for 4 May

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order has received a free content update timed for 4 May in North America. The update’s biggest addition comes in the form of the new Meditation Training mode, though a New Game Plus mode is also available.

“Meditation Training… is a new game mode hub that can be accessed from the Meditation points found throughout the game,” an update reads. “In it, you’ll be able to face off against all enemies, including bosses, in two different modes: Combat Challenges and the Battle Grid.”

Combat Challenges are essentially a horde mode, pitting protagonist Cal “against waves of enemies across multiple planetary backdrops from across the galaxy, including the Imperial stronghold Fortress Inquisitorius.” There are a total of 12 challenges in total, each with three stars that can be earned:

  • Star 1: Complete the challenge
  • Star 2: Complete the challenge without healing
  • Star 3: Complete the challenge without taking damage

Earning 12 (of 36 available) stars will reward you with three new BD-1 appearances: Onderon Bloom, Kesseltone and Galionica.

The Battle Grid area of Meditation Training will let players set up their own custom encounters.

Finally, a New Journey Plus mode is available to those who’d like to start playing from the start of the game but keep their Force powers intact. Cal also gains access to a new outfit, the Inquisitor Uniform, when playing in New Journey Plus mode.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4; the game’s on sale right now.
