Star Wars: Battlefront had a single-player campaign that was cut due to time issues

EA’s Patrick Söderlund, speaking to investors, confirmed that Star Wars: Battlefront indeed did have a single-player campaign. That mode was sadly cut due to time constraints.

“It was [a] conscious decision we made due to time and being able to launch the game side-by-side with [Star Wars: The Force Awakens] to get the strongest possible impact,” Söderlund said, detailing the decision.

Söderlund also conceded that the game’s Metacritic score of 75 was partially because of a “lack of a single-player campaign.”

EA has previously committed to a far more robust sequel.
