The Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown Switch 2 demo is expected tomorrow.
Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown will feature the vocal talents of both Tim Russ (Tuvok, above centre in security gold) and Robert Duncan McNeill (Paris, bottom-most right), both reprising their iconic characters for in-game logs. Moreover, developer gamExcite has also confirmed that it has secured the rights to Voyager‘s main theme for use in its upcoming ‘what if’ simulator.
“Star Trek: Voyager – Across the Unknown will feature fully voiced logs by Tuvok and Tom Paris at the start of each sector,” gamExcite’s Daniel Bernard told Nintendo Life. “It was important to us to bring back the original actors in a way that felt meaningful. These logs recap recent events and set the stage for the mission ahead. The characters are voiced by their original actors, Tim Russ and Robert Duncan McNeill.”
It’s unclear at present if said logs will be voiceovers over cutscenes like we see in Across the Unknown‘s opening scenes, or in a different format altogether. In our demo playthrough, below, you can see and not here Captain Katherine Janeway setting up the opening sector via a captain’s log.
“Finally, we are also including the main theme from the show for the full release of the game,” Bernard confirmed, in a statement that is sure to please long-time Voyager fans.
The interview coincides with the news of the final Voyager: Across the Unknown demo. Already available on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5, those on Switch 2 will finally be able to go hands-on with the game from tomorrow, 10 February here in Australia.
Following the Switch 2 demo, there’s not long to wait — Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown will head to PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch 2 from 19 February.
