Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown promises better audio in final version

gamExcite has promised updated music, effect, and the addition of voiceovers.

Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown developer gamExcite has promised to update music, sound effects and add in voiceovers for the title’s full release.

News of this work was related by gamExcite direct to players through an update to Across the Unknown’s Steam Next Fest demo on Windows PC.

“The full version will feature localization into additional languages, partial voice over as well as updated music and sound effects,” reads a portion of the statement, which is displayed prior to gameplay.

gamExcite continued on to say that, “as an indie team comprised of Star Trek Fans, your feedback means a lot to us,” and encouraged fans to join its Discord to share your thoughts.

In my initial preview of Across the Unknown, which you can read in full on TrekMovie.com, I applauded the demo but noted a lack of familiar sounding music, sound effects, and the complete lack of voiceovers. gamExcite’s statement goes a long way towards a more enjoyable, immersive experience.

(And fingers crossed gamExcite gets Voyager’s actual cast rather than sound-a-likes, eh?)

If you want to play the demo for yourself, you can grab it on Steam right here.

We’ll report back as more on Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown is made available. The title is expected on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
