Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown devs addressing feedback, looking at manual saves

For now, autosaves are increased.

Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown developer gameXcite is responding to player feedback directed at its lack of manual save functionality, working on ways to make it easier to progress while a true fix happens.

The game’s second hotfix, 1.0.2, is all about saving, with gameXcite increasing autosave functionality so that it kicks in after every fifth point of interest visited.

“We’re preparing a manual quick save system for the upcoming patch,” gameXcite added.

“We have heard you – very loudly… no for real, our ears are still ringing,” gameXcite said in a launch day post, still speaking about save functionality. “It is a little bit more complicated than ‘just allowing saving whenever’ – But we have seen what your desired outcome is and we are doing our best to find a solution that brings you there – without diminishing crucial game design decisions.”

Hotfix 1.0.1, also released yesterday, fixes up a progression blocker involving Tom Paris found within the “Maneuvers” mission, and sorts a number of potential crash points.

Star Trek Voyager Across the Unknown is now available on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, and Switch 2. We reviewed it right here, and have a massive Achievement and Trophy guide for the game here.
