Star Trek Starfleet Academy adds its first three cadets

Time to crack a book... or a PADD?

Star Trek Starfleet Academy cast announcements have so far featured those not studying to become Starfleet officers, but that’s now changed with the confirmation of three cadets.

Confirmed for the newest Star Trek television show are Kerrice Brooks (My Old Ass), Bella Shepard (Wolf Pack), and George Hawkins (Tell Me Everything) — pictured above, from left to right — who join previously announced cast members Holly Hunter and Paul Giamatti.

Star Trek Starfleet Academy introduces viewers to a young group of cadets who come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism,” a press release from Paramount, newly acquired by Skydance, reads.

“Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers as they navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.”

Starfleet Academy will essentially replace Star Trek Discovery as the franchise’s second live action series after Strange New Worlds. Starfleet Academy will take place in Discovery‘s 32nd Century.

We’ll have more on Star Trek Starfleet Academy as it develops.
