Star Trek Resurgence engineering gameplay shows off the Resolute

More Star Trek Resurgence gameplay has dropped in a new four-minute video courtesy IGN.

The gameplay is truly a Star Trek fan’s dream, starting up in the U.S.S. Resolute’s shuttlebay before taking us through a deck, a turbolift and finally ending up inside engineering. We get a good sense of one of Resurgence‘s protagonists, Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz, as he and a colleague discuss the rebuilding of the Resolute before an important mission.

There’s a lot to take in otherwise, from cargo transporter sound effects, to (deconstructed) shuttles in the shuttlebay, to the Resolute’s slightly unusual warp core, to a mention of what we’ve seen to be First Contact-inspired EV suits. What did we miss that you’ve picked up?

Like yesterday’s Spock-focused gameplay, there appears to be a little more polishing to do before the game is released; we noticed some framerate drops and slow down. Otherwise, it looks fantastic!

Developed by former Telltale Games staffers in Dramatic Labs, Star Trek Resurgence is planned for the first half of 2022. The title will be available on Windows PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4 and PS5.
