Star Trek Picard returning characters include Data, Seven, Riker, Troi

Star Trek Picard will feature a number of returning characters including Data, Seven of Nine, William T. Riker and Deanna Troi, details from San Diego Comic-Con trailer have revealed.

First, a trailer has shown that both Brent Spiner (Data) and Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine) will reprise their roles, first established on Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager respectively.

You can check both characters out in action below — Spiner’s Data looks to be using some CGI tricks to de-age the actor (alongside the use of B-4’s body from Star Trek: Nemesis) while Ryan’s Seven looks to be far more human than represented in her own series.

Moreover, IGN’s Scott Collura has reported that both Jonathan Frakes as Riker and Marina Sirtis as Troi will make on-screen appearances alongside guest character Hugh, a Borg played by Jonathan Del Acro. All three characters were establised on The Next Generation.

Frakes, the director of Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection, will also be directing episodes of this new television show.

Star Trek: Picard will air on Amazon Prime Video in early 2020 and stars Patrick Stewart as iconic character Jean-Luc Picard.
