Star Trek Lower Decks Season 5 airs October 2024

The fifth and final season will surely send the Cerritos out with a bang.

Star Trek Lower Decks Season 5 — the series’ final season — will start to air from 24 October, Paramount has today confirmed.

“[T]he crew of the U.S.S. Cerritos is tasked with closing ‘space potholes’ – subspace rifts which are causing chaos in the Alpha Quadrant. Pothole duty would be easy for Jr. Officers Mariner, Boimler, Tendi and Rutherford…if they didn’t also have to deal with an Orion war, furious Klingons, diplomatic catastrophes, murder mysteries and scariest of all: their own career aspirations,” reads the season’s synopsis.

“This upcoming season on Paramount+ is a celebration of this underdog crew who are dangerously close to being promoted out of the lower decks and into strange new Starfleet roles.”

Today was a big day for Star Trek fans, with the announcement of a new comedy series helmed by Tawny Newsome, the addition of Voyager and Discovery characters inside Starfleet Academy, and trailers for Section 31 and Strange New Worlds.

Star Trek Lower Decks Season 5 will stream on Paramount Plus from 24 October here in Australia.
