Stan Sports Roland-Garros coverage is broken right now

Yikes.

Update: The issues with Stan Sports’ streaming appear to have been resolved. Stan did not return our request for comment from 30 May.

Original story: Stan Sports’ Roland-Garros coverage is pitiful right now, almost unwatchable on day one of the tournament.

Most Roland-Garros feeds are mostly artefacts at present, largely giant pixels and blurring.

Twitter is full of Stan Sports subscribers currently lamenting the extra fee they’ve paid to watch tennis matches.

We can confirm as much from our own Stan Sport subscription, noting that Stan’s two main feeds seem more stable than those from the ‘pick your own match’ variety. We’ve cut all other internet usage to try to better our feeds to no avail. As noted on Twitter, the two main feeds provide acutal commentary while additional feeds do not.

Back in November last year, Stan proclaimed its additional Sports feed would become “a home of Wimbledon and Roland-Garros in Australia — two of the world’s most prestigious tennis tournaments.”

Stan Sports is an additional $10 AUD a month on top of a Stan Basic or Stan Standard subcription and also includes a host of rugby matches.

We’ve asked Stan for comment and will advise when more is known.
