STALKER 2 heads to PS5 later in 2025

Xbox console exclusive no more.

Current Xbox console exclusive STALKER 2 will head to PS5 later this year, GSC Game World has today declared.

“The Perimeter expands — S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is officially announced for PlayStation 5,” the studio said on social media.

According to a trailer posted by IGN, the studio has added that the PS5 version of the title “will fully utilize DualSense controller features, including haptic feedback and adaptive triggers for deeper player immersion. Further technical enhancements for the PS5 Pro are also in development.”

We reviewed the game back at its Xbox and PC launch in November of last year.

“In its current, post launch state, STALKER 2 is an enjoyable modern example of an old school survival horror FPS,” Hamish wrote at the time. “It still has some other more fundamental issues of course, such as weapon durability, mutant health and a borked economy to name a few – but these don’t outright ruin the experience and instead plant it more firmly into its niche.”

STALKER 2 is currently available on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X, and will head to PS5 sometime in 2025.
