Stalker 2 coming 2023; here’s an update from its developer

A war rather complicates development...

Stalker 2 has been pushed to 2023 as a result of the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine. Today at the second Xbox and Bethesda Summer Game Fest presentation, developer GSC Game World provided a new update on how things are going.

GSC Game World’s update reveals that not all Ukrainian staff were able to find safety and are forced to work and live within a live warzone. Developers became volunteers, helping their fellow citizens.

The update is well worth a watch and brings a real humanity to the ongoing conflict. It’s below.

The update video was also accompanied by a new gameplay trailer that can also be found below.

Stalker 2 Heart of Chornobyl is planned for Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X and Xbox Cloud Gaming in 2023; it heads to Xbox and PC Game Pass at launch.
