Stadia iOS support now possible through browser-based solution

You can play Stadia on iOS using a supported web browser of your choice.

Stadia iOS support is once again available through a web-based solution that works with a number of web browsers on both iPhone and iPad.

From today, iOS users can go to https://stadia.google.com using Safari, Chrome or a progressive web app (PWA) to play.

Those on Safari can head to the website above and then hit the Share button down the bottom of their screens to “Add to Home Screen”, placing an icon on their phone’s menu system and effectively creating an app for easy access into Stadia.

Sadly, the functionality isn’t available to all Stadia players as yet as Google has confirmed it’s “testing” the functionality. It’s unclear when the trial phase will end, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.

The news is perhaps unsurprising for those who’ve been following cloud game streaming on iOS; with Apple tightening policies, Google’s Stadia, Microsoft’s xCloud, NVIDIA’s GeForce Now and Amazon’s Luna have all announced they are hard at work on browser-based solutions to bring their wares to the Apple ecosystem.
