Stadia Connect livestream scheduled ahead of Gamescom

Another Stadia Connect livestream has been scheduled to take place ahead of Gamescom later this month.

The event starts at 3.00 am AEST on 20 August (or 10.00 PDT, 19 August) and promises “all the details”, though what that means is anyone’s guess. The event is planned to coincide with Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, running between 20-24 August.

Google Stadia is a livestreaming platform that’s scheduled to launch in select regions — not including Australia — in November. At launch, a special Google Stadia Founder’s edition will provide three months of access to the service alongside Destiny 2 and is priced at $129.99 USD. If you want to play other games on Stadia, you’ll have to buy them individually.

We’ll have more on this Stadia news as it’s made available.

Steve's the owner and Editor-in-Chief of Stevivor.com, the country’s leading independent video games outlet. Steve arrived in Australia back in 2001 on what was meant to be a three-month working holiday before deciding to emigrate and, eventually, becoming a citizen.

Stevivor is a combination of ‘Steve’ and ‘Survivor’, which made more sense back in 2001 when Jeff Probst was up in Queensland. The site started as Steve’s travel blog before transitioning over into video games.

Aside from video games, Steve has interests in hockey and Star Trek, playing the former and helping to cover video games about the latter on TrekMovie.com. By day, Steve works as the communications manager of the peak body representing Victorians as they age.
