Split Ficton Friend Pass goes cross-platform, letting a friend play for free anywhere

Nifty!

The Split Fiction Friend Pass has gone cross-platform, meaning an owner of the game can share a free copy with a friend regardless of the platform they are playing on.

Split Fiction and the Friend’s Pass support cross-platform play,” confirmed a recent FAQ. “For example, if you are playing on Xbox Series S|X, you can invite a friend playing on PC or PlayStation 5.

“As long as one of you owns the game, both of you can play!”

This is a change from Hazelight’s most recent It Takes Two, in which the Friend Pass only worked on the same platform that the owner played on.

The FAQ also confirmed that the Friend Pass can be used by as many friends as the owner has — though, of course, there are a few conditions. Those using the Friend Pass will need to play alongside someone who owns the game, and said owner will pick the spot at which the playthrough begins.

Expect Split Fiction from 6 March 2025 on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, and PS5.
