Splatoon 3 offers bonuses for Splatoon 2 save data

You shouldn't have!

Splatoon 2 save data will reward Splatoon 3 with bonuses, Nintendo has recently confirmed.

Save data from Splatoon 2 can be imported into Splatoon 3 by launching the new game and entering the lobby while connected to the internet. The save transfer requires that the save data has to be on the same Switch system and on the same user account.

For your troubles, you’ll get three Gold Sheldon licenses that can be exchanged for new weapons. You’ll also be able to join higher-ranked Anarchy Battles as you’ll get a boost from your Splatoon 2 ranking. Transferring the save data means you’ll also get matched with players of similar (historic) skill levels.

Splatoon 3 heads to Nintendo Switch on 9 September. A special Splatfest Splatoon 3 demo will be available to Switch players later this month.
