South Park: The Stick of Truth “initially refused classification” in Australia; slightly modified version will go on sale in March 2014

A representative from Ubisoft Australia has confirmed a report from Player Attack today that said a slightly modified version of South Park: The Stick of Truth will go on sale in Australia from March 2014.

An Ubisoft rep confirmed with Stevivor this afternoon that “[a] slightly modified version of the game… will release on March 6.”

“Ubisoft can confirm South Park: The Stick of Truth was initially refused classification by the Australian Classification Board. A slightly modified version of the game has now been approved and will release on March 6,” was the representative’s statement in full. No further information was offered.

We’ll have more on this — ideally, on what was amended — as it develops.
