South of Midnight release date set for April 2025, new story trailer sets the tone

This looks fantastic.

The already intriguing South of Midnight is even more so thanks to a new story trailer that also confirms its release date: 8 April 2025.

“When a hurricane rips through Prospero, Hazel is pulled into a Southern Gothic world where reality and fantasy are interwoven, and ancient creatures from folklore emerge,” reads a description attached to the new trailer, which is below.

“Monsters are never forgotten,” the trailer itself proclaims. “Secrets never rest.”

As is Microsoft’s way, the trailer also confirms that those who purchase South of Midnight‘s Premium Edition will gain five days of early access. Here in Australia, the Premium Edition will set you back $84.95 AUD, compared to $69.96 AUD for its Standard Edition. Xbox Game Pass members can also purchase a Premium Upgrade for $15.00 AUD.

In addition to early access, the Premium Edition also contains an artbook, its soundtrack, a Boo-Hag comic book, a music video, and a documentary.

South of Midnight is planned for an 8 April 2025 release on Windows PC, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. It’ll also be available through Xbox Game Pass.
