Sonic Colours Ultimate coming 2021, new Sonic in 2022

Gotta go fast!

Sonic Colours Ultimate will head to consoles in September, followed by an all-new Sonic game in 2022, Sega has today confirmed.

Sonic Colours Ultimate is an “upgrade” on the 2010 release, as developed by Blind Squirrel Entertainment.

Sonic Colours: Ultimate brings a fresh hue to the celebrated game with stunning visuals, additional features, a new mode, and improved gameplay enhancements, providing players the ultimate Sonic experience,” Sega said.

Expect Sonic Colours Ultimate on Xbox One, PS4 and Switch from 7 September. The title is also backwards compatible on Xbox Series S & X and PS5.

Moreover, a recent episode of Sonic Central confirmed that a new Sonic the Hedgehog title is in development for a 2022 release. We don’t know much more about the title, but we’ll be sure to update you when we do.

Developed by Sonic Team, the Sonic the Hedgehog 2022 release is planned for Windows PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS4, PS5 and Switch.
