Slightly Mad Studios: Project CARS runs at 23fps on Wii U, we’re waiting for the NX

Bad news for Nintendo fans as Slightly Mad Studios has all but shelved production of Project CARS on Wii U.

Studio head Ian Bell took to the game’s forums to declare that Project CARS runs at 23 frames per second (fps) on the Wii U, and because of that, Slightly Mad Studios was “awaiting/hoping for more of a hardware announcement at E3…”

“Honestly, unless we really cut the looks back [on Wii U] I think we’re looking to Nintendo’s next console,” Bell added.

Nintendo has already declared that it will not be discussing the NX — presumed to be its next home console — at this year’s E3.

We’ve reviewed Project CARS on current-gen here.
