Skylanders Battlecast turns toys to life into a collectible card game

Skylanders is branching out to a mobile, collectible card game next year.

Called Skylanders Battlecast, the game will task players to create a team of Skylanders from physical or digital card packs, and then battle other created teams online.

Physical cards will be scanned into the game using the mobile it’s played upon. Digital packs are simply purchased in-game.

Skylanders Battlecast will be free-to-play (though not to collect), and available on iOS, Android and Amazon devices.
