Shadow of the Tomb Raider ups its puzzle game

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has had at least 50 different puzzle mechanisms designed for the game, Eidos Montreal has today revealed.

The reveal comes by way of a new behind-the-scenes video featuring 3D Artist Yann Regnier.

Regnier says he’s created at least 50 puzzle mechanisms that have been inspired by real-world civilizations. His puzzles use bronze, cording, obsidian and wood.

Regnier added that he’s designed one puzzle mechanism in particular that he hopes will inspire fear when a player sets foot into a tomb and sees it.

More of Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be detailed during Square Enix’s E3 2018 press conference — we’re looking forward to it!

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is scheduled for a 14 September release on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
