Secret Level’s weird PAC-MAN is now Shadow Labyrinth

You must eat.

If you’ve seen Amazon’s Secret Level, you’ve surely watched its off the rails PAC-MAN episode. As it turns out, that weird take is now a game proper, called Shadow Labyrinth.

“We were trying to do something that we’ve never done before,” Shadow Labyrinth producer Seigo Aizawa said to Entertainment Weekly.

“The maze is one of the key elements of Pac-Man. Also, think about that mystery atmosphere. That’s the reason why we decided on the 2D action platformer, plus a dark and mysterious Pac-Man…. We wanted to really welcome new players who have never played Pac-Man before.”

Shadow Labyrinth is a 2D action platformer and a genre-twisting alternate take on the iconic PAC-MAN,” Bandai Namco said alongside a trailer, above.

“As Swordsman No. 8, awoken by a floating yellow orb, PUCK, on a mysterious planet amidst relics of wars past, you are chosen to become the instrument of its will. To survive you will discover many secrets, consume your enemies, and grow from prey to the apex predator as you embrace your true purpose.”

Expect Shadow Labyrinth in 2025 on Windows PC via Steam, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, and Switch.
