Scream 5 will feature Courtney Cox, David Arquette

Scream 5 will feature returning stars Courtney Cox and David Arquette, reports have recently confirmed.

First, David Arquette was confirmed to be reprising his role as Sheriff Dewey Riley a couple months back at the same time filming of Scream 5 was set for later in the year after security protocols in relation to the coronavirus pandemic are put in place.

“I am thrilled to be playing Dewey again and to reunite with my Scream family, old and new,” Arquette told Deadline at the time. “Scream has been such a big part of my life, and for both the fans and myself, I look forward to honoring Wes Craven’s legacy.”

Flash forward to this week and The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Courtney Cox will reprise her role as journalist Gale Weathers in the upcoming film.

A reboot film, production on Scream 5 is underway; the film will be shot in Wilmington, North Carolina. Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, who directed Ready or Not, will direct this film.
