Overwatch looks to be getting a Valentine’s Day-themed event

Update: Readers Matt and Darrell rightly point out that Blizzard’s Jeff Kaplan has ruled out a Valentine’s Day event. Maybe this is just flavour audio?

Original story: A new data mine of Overwatch’s newest Public Test Realm (PTR) update has uncovered Valentine’s Day event files, suggesting a new, themed-event is on the way.

In particular, two files featuring Mercy and Genji have the pair discussing gifts of chocolates. You can hear them via Reddit.

A Valentine’s Day event would join previous Olympic, Halloween and Christmas events.

Overwatch is now available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4. Its newest PTR update buffs Roadhog, D.Va and Ana.
