Octane is allegedly Apex Legends’ next playable character

A character named Octane is allegedly the next to be added to Apex Legends, a series of rumours suggest.

A series of posts popped up on Reddit six days ago, all asserting that Octane will become Apex Legends‘ ninth playable character. Two days ago, Daily Esports reported that a source provided them with original artwork of the character, shown above.

While that source didn’t speak of Octane’s abilities, one of the original leaks alleges that Octane has the following skills in his arsenal:

  • Passive: Swift Mend. While not taking damage, Octane restores health over time.
  • Tactical: Adrenaline Junkie. Move 30% faster for 6 seconds. Costs 10% Health. Immune to slows while active.
  • Ultimate: Launch Pad. Deployable jump pad that catapults users through the air.

If the rumours are true, it’s possible that Octane will become available for purchase inside Apex Legends on 12 March, the same day that the game’s Battle Pass allegedly goes up for purchase.

Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale set in the world of Titanfall. It’s available now on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
