No new Nintendo hardware before March 2023, says report

Supply chain shortages impact everyone.

There will be no new Nintendo hardware available before March 2023, a new report from Nikkei suggests.

The report comes via a translation from Bloomberg’s Takashi Mochizuki, who notes that it’s “not immediately clear whether that part of the article is from Nikkei’s own reporting or what Nintendo President, who Nikkei interviewed for the story, said.”

Senior Analyist at MST Financial, David Gibson, followed up on Mochizuki’s report with quotes he attributes to Nintendo directly.

“Normally, it would stockpile inventory in the summer to be ready for the end of the year, when it is at its peak,” Gibson’s translation reads. “This summer we have not been able to produce as much as in previous years.”
