New Xbox Elite controller rumoured for October

A new Xbox Elite controller is rumoured to ship in October.

The controller, rumoured since the start of this year, is said to use Bluetooth and sports a USB-C wired connection, an Apple MagSafe-like charging connector to protect from cable pulls and a built-in, chargeable battery.

Moreover, the second-generation Elite controller is said to have three-level hair trigger locks, as opposed to the current Elite’s two, and a three-profile switch.

The Verge’s Senior Editor, Tom Warren, recently took to Twitter to state that the second-gen Elite is codenamed Washburn and will become available in October. He furthers that the new controller will retail for $149 USD.

If true, we’re likely to see an announcement from Microsoft at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. We’ll keep you posted.
