Mother 3 might get a western release

Eurogamer today reports that Mother 3 — the successor to Earthbound — might finally get a release in the west.

The report comes as several sources close to Nintendo made the same allegation over Twitter.

“Don’t be surprised if Nintendo celebrates a game’s 10th anniversary this year,” Nintendo tipster Emily Rogers posted alongside a photo of Mother character Kumatora. Rogers later deleted the tweet — a trend that most of the tweets declaring the rumour followed.

Mother 3 has never seen an official release in the west. We’ll keep you updated.
