Marvel vs Capcom 4: Reveal rumoured this week for a 2017 release

Polygon today cites various sources who allege that a new Marvel vs Capcom game is on the way.

It’s alleged that Marvel vs Capcom 4 will be announced this week during The Game Awards and will be released in 2017.

If true, it’s likely we’d see new film heroes like Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Star-Lord and Groot joining Marvel’s established heroes, Iron ManSpider-Man and more.

Capcom’s keeping quiet about the rumour, though developer Ryota Niitsuma took to Twitter (via Fenix Bazaar) to refute the idea.

The latest game in the franchise, Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, was released on Xbox 360 and PS3 back in 2011.

We’ll keep you posted.
