League of Legends mobile game may soon be coming

A League of Legends mobile game may be coming as a result of a partnership between Riot Games and Tencent, a new report suggests.

Reuters reports that the two companies are teaming up for an iOS and Android release of the popular PC battle arena game. Riot and Tencent have previously paired up for a joint venture in Tengjing Sports that runs Esport tournaments and markets LoL products.

Reuters also suggests Tencent has pitched a League of Legends mobile title to Riot years ago, which Riot rejected. to run e-sport tournaments and market League of Legends-related products. In response, Tencent rebranded the title as Honor of Kings, which has been quite successful in China. The same title was again rebranded as Arena of Valor in western markets and hasn’t performed quite as well.

We’ll keep you informed as more is known. A mobile version of League of Legends would join titles like Call of Duty, Fortnite, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and many more.
