Konami strikes again? Snake won’t appear within Super Smash Bros.

In today’s Nintendo Direct, Bayonetta was named one of the top 5 most-requested characters to be added into Super Smash Bros. from “among the negotiable and realisable characters”.

The keywords there? “Negotiable and realisable”. They’re leading many on social media to believe Metal Gear Solid‘s protagonist Snake was essentially blocked from inclusion by Konami.

While there’s no concrete proof on this, it wouldn’t be out of character for the publisher, who’s made headlines of late attempting to make Hideo Kojima’s life miserable.

Reports today suggest Kojima has finally left Konami to work on new projects.
