June 2020 Nintendo Direct presentation mightn’t happen: report

A June 2020 Nintendo Direct, timed to replace the publisher’s usual E3 2020 offering, mightn’t happen according to a new report.

VentureBeat suggests that Nintendo has already told its partners that it won’t be hosting a June 2020 Direct as a result of complications that have arisen from Japan’s current COVID-19 coronavirus work from home order.

The planned Direct, one that would have celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario Bros franchise, was also reportedly the vehicle for Nintendo to announce rumoured Super Mario remasters. Said remasters are rumoured to include the likes of Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy.

We’ll keep you informed as we learn more of Nintendo’s plans.
