Is Penn Jillette Battleborn’s next character?

On the latest episode of his podcast, Penn’s Sunday School, magician Penn Jillette announced that he may become Battleborn‘s newest character.

“Gearbox has this new game out called Battleborn, which is phenomenal,” he began. “Randy Pitchford is the greatest game guy ever.”

“One of the things they’re going to be doing, is they’re going to be bringing … they’re going to probably be bringing in a Penn and Teller-type character at this end-of-the-world scenario.”

Jillette divulged that he’s sat down with Gearbox artists to assist with character designs.

“So I get to sit down with the artists who are drawing me, and one of the artists says to me, ‘You know, you have the perfect traditional magician look,” he continued.

Jillette and Pitchford have previously worked together on a new VR Desert Bus game. Kind of.

We’ve asked Gearbox and 2K for comment — it is possible that Jillette was an inspiration for one of the game’s 25 current heroes.

Battleborn is now available on Windows PC, Xbox One and PS4.
