Has Nvidia spilt the beans on a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V?

We’ve more Grand Theft Auto V news today, with CraveOnline now reporting that an Nvidia earnings call has all but confirmed the game’s PC release.

With the game only confirmed on PS3 and Xbox 360, Chris Evanden, Senior IR Director of Nvidia said the following during the call:

The PC market is evolving. As entry level laptops face pressure from tablets. Yet sales of specialty PCs like gaming systems and work stations continue to grow. The disparity reflects how consumers use these different classes of PCs. Many consumers look for PC as a general purpose device they can use for browsing, email, social media video. But much of this can be better served by a tablet. In contrast, gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin’s Creed IV.

Rumours of a PC release of Grand Theft Auto V have been circulating for some time now, with now-pulled job advertisements playing their role alongside a petition to officially bring the game from consoles.

What do you think of Nvidia’s claim? A cat out of the bag, or a slip of the tongue? Are we using too many analogies? You tell us.

Grand Theft Auto V will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 on 17 September.
