Halfbrick layoffs impact 50% of its total workforce

Australian developer Halfbrick has laid off 50% of its staff, according to a new report.

The report comes by way of CNET, which cites numerous sources that allege the developer is restructuring to focus on its best-selling games Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride.

The sources continue to allege that Halfbrick’s Brisbane-based office has fewer than 30 employees; previously, that headquarters was home to 70 full-time staff.

Halfbrick closed its Sydney office back in July 2016, and has an office in Spain. It’s unclear if the Spanish office will remain in operation.

Halfbrick has yet to comment on the report.
