Galaxy Quest TV spin-off reportedly heading to Paramount+

It's a good time to be a sci-fi fan.

Galaxy Quest TV spin-off is reportedly under development for Paramount+, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The TV show would be a “live-action adaptation” of the 1999 feature film starring Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver and the late Alan Rickman.

“Sources say the project is in the early development stages and a search is underway for a writer to pair with Mark Johnson, the Breaking Bad alum who exec produced the film and is returning for the scripted update,” writes The Hollywood Reporter.

The outlet adds that work on the TV project began in 2015, with numerous writers attached to the project.

We’ll report back on the Galaxy Quest TV series as more is known.

The report comes as Paramount+ today confirmed it has greenlit Star Trek Section 31 movie starring Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh.
