Final Fantasy XV has been delayed to November

Gamnesia reports that Final Fantasy XV has been delayed until November.

The site claims Square Enix has begun to contact Gamespot retail stores in North America, advising of the delay. As part of the communication, instructions have been sent detailing how current promotional materials will soon need to be amended to reflect the change. One such communication is shown above.

Moreover, Kotaku has contacted its own sources to corroborate the claim.

Final Fantasy XV was expected on 30 September, but the delay will set the game back until 29 November.

We’ll have more on the delay as it’s made available — or when Square Enix provides further comment.

Update: Square Enix has confirmed this new release date.

“From the moment we joined this project, our vision was to create a level of freedom and realism previously unseen in the series. Regrettably, we need a little bit more time to deliver on this vision and are confident that this new release date will help us achieve this,” said Hajime Tabata, Game Director.

“As the director and lead of this project, I wish to personally apologize for the additional wait. As a team, we want Final Fantasy XV to achieve a level of perfection that our fans deserve. We kindly ask for your understanding.”
